The Sudanese Islamic Movement attacked the Saudi Foreign Ministry’s statement on the Jeddah talks between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.
The group said in a statement on Wednesday that the facilitators had inserted things unrelated to the negotiation.
The statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry on the talks affirmed the commitment to repatriate the escapees from prisons, referring to the leaders of the Islamic Movement who are being tried in several cases.
In its statement, the Islamic Movement said it would continue to support the armed forces in the real negotiating field, which is the battlefield.
Its focus now is on restoring the dignity of citizens and their land and retribution for exposing them to what it described as “agents, hired people and mercenaries.”
The statement stated that the commitments made by the facilitators will not distract them from their duty to defend the dignity of the people behind the army.
The Islamic Movement in Sudan is led by Ali Karti, whom the Rapid Support Forces accuse of igniting the war in April.
