The ministry said in a report today that the cumulative rate of cholera infection since the start of its spread on August 26 rose to 1,188 cases and 43 deaths.

The report indicated that the cumulative rate of dengue fever rose to 2517.

For its part, the Federal Ministry of Health announced the emergence of cholera in the Red Sea and the decline of epidemiology in the rest of the states.

Last week, the Department of Health Emergency and Epidemic Control at the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Gedaref State announced the registration of 19 confirmed cases of acute watery diarrhea, bringing the number of confirmed cases of the disease since the beginning of its spread on August 26 to 1042 cases, of which 37 deaths were recorded.

The cumulative dengue report showed that 16 confirmed cases of the disease were recorded on November 5, bringing the confirmed cases of the disease to 2,386, in addition to recording one death, bringing the death rate from the disease to 34 deaths.

The Director-General of the Ministry of Health and Social Development in Gedarif, Abdul Nasser Hassan Ali, appealed to citizens to follow health guidelines, drink chlorinated water, not eat contaminated food and promote positive behaviors, by washing hands with soap and water and proper disposal of waste.

The Director-General also noted the need to cover and clean water storage pots and tanks, and to allocate a day for drying and draining running water, in order to prevent the reproduction of dengue mosquitoes and stop its spread in the state.
