A Stele Was Installed With the Numbers of the Badges of More Than 20 Thousand Mercenaries Who Died in Ukraine

At the memorial complex of the Wagner PMC, located near the city of Goryachiy Klyuch in the Krasnodar Territory, a new stele was installed, on which are inscribed the numbers of dog tags of more than 20 thousand Wagnerites who died in the war in Ukraine. Caucasus.Realities write about this .

The stele consists of three triangular planes of black granite, which are connected by lintels with a bell suspended on them. On each plane are engraved the numbers of the tokens of the mercenaries who died in Ukraine.

According to the telegram channel “Unloading Wagner” associated with the PMC, in total the token numbers of more than 20 thousand dead are stamped on the stele. This figure coincides with the number of dead Wagnerites, which company founder Yevgeny Prigozhin spoke about in May 2023 . Half of this number of dead, as he noted, were prisoners recruited in Russian colonies.

According to military pensioner and author of the telegram channel “Titushki Krasnodar” Vitaly Votanovsky, who was the first to publish a photo of the graves of the Wagnerites who died in Ukraine in the village of Baku, as of the beginning of September there were about 850 graves in the Wagner PMC cemetery.

Votanovsky discovered the cemetery in the village of Bakinskaya in December 2022. It, like the previously discovered small columbarium near the chapel in Goryachiy Klyuch (about 10 km between the two cemeteries), is located near the GRU special forces base in Molkin: the Wagner PMC mercenary training center was previously stationed there.

At the end of December last year, Yevgeny Prigozhin confirmed that the cemetery in the village of Baku, Krasnodar Territory, belongs to his private military company.

The arrangement of the burial sites of the Wagnerites who died in Ukraine stopped after the death of Prigozhin in a plane crash in the Tver region.
