Qalwak said in remarks to Al-Shorouk on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo that his country was part of those agreements when it was part of Sudan before gaining independence in 2011, and added: “If there are intentions for that, the matter will be resolved through consultations with the State of Sudan in order to get our share of them, but South Sudan did not think and never decided to do so.”
Galwak stressed that South Sudan still believes that the solution to the issue of the Renaissance Dam will come through negotiations between the three countries Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan, and that a just and satisfactory solution must be reached for all parties.
